Ever since finding out we were going to have another baby last year, I knew a MiniMeis review would be on the cards, since I couldn’t afford a shoulder carrier for Evie, my eight-year-old, when she was little (and riding on her parent’s shoulders has been one of her preferred methods of transport for as long as I can remember!).

I started my buying journey on the MiniMeis website, which is nicely presented and easy to navigate. There are four available colours (Birch Premium has been discontinued, despite showing in the product line-up above):

Stock levels of the G5 Shoulder Carrier Premium were limited, to say the least. It’s clearly a very popular colour! I ordered from one retailer who subsequently told me it wouldn’t arrive for 3-5 months, and MiniMeis direct also was also suffering with supply issues.
I contacted House of Bebe and they took the order and promptly notified me that they were having stock issues too. However, I was impressed with how they went above and beyond to source one; their brilliant customer service! I recommend checking them out if you haven’t already.

When our MiniMeis G5 arrived, we were impressed by how sturdy and compact the kit felt even before opening it. It comes folded flat in a sleek package with all the essential accessories—including ankle straps, a waist strap, and a full set of shoulder straps that can be easily adjusted.
Setup was intuitive, though the included user guide is useful—especially if you’re a first-time user.
We first tested the G5 during our visit to West Green House Gardens in Hampshire and it didn’t disappoint. Millie, our six-month-old, absolutely loved the ride.
The only drawback? She kept pulling my hair so hard I thought it might come out—but that’s more of a baby behaviour issue than a flaw in the carrier!
